BOARD OF DIRECTORS

STEVE ALTICK

Steve served as the President/CEO of Camp Berachah Ministries since 1984, retiring in 2014.  He continues to serve on the board of directors; the ministry now named Black Diamond Camps provides Christian camps and conferences at two sites, Auburn and Greenwater, in the state of Washington. Steve retired after 23 years in the United States Air Force, flying fighters during three combat tours in Vietnam. He was ordained into the ministry in 1986. He graduated from Oregon State University and has completed graduate work at seminary and several senior service colleges. Steve was the Chairman of the Board of Christian Camp and Conference Association (CCCA), and is active in consulting with ministries and nonprofits.  He and his wife Kathy have three adult children and six grandchildren and live in Yakima, Washington.

DAVE RUNNION

Dave has retired from his second career in banking as a vice president in Credit Administration for a small bank in Newport Beach.  Previously, Dave had been self employed for the past twenty five years as owner of a firm specializing in commercial real estate lending.  Before that he spent fifteen years in the banking industry in management and commercial lending. Upon retirement, Dave is now embarking in a new venture of real estate development, with a 19 unit housing project in Riverside County. He continues to faithfully serve his church as Elder in Administration and Finance as he has done for the past thirty-five years. Dave is a devoted student of the Word and leads a weekly men’s small group. He and his wife Karen have been married for 49 years. They have one daughter who is married and living close by to them. She is a practicing attorney.

WAYNE SILZEL

Wayne has served multiple terms as Elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church and Chair of Covenant Christian School Board in Orange, California.  He and Mary have been married 58 years after their meeting at Whitman College where Wayne earned a BA in Economics and later an MBA degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.  They have two adult children and four grandchildren. Wayne served ten years as Mayor and Councilmember in Villa Park, California and he and Mary later formed Community Emergency Response Teams and a Neighborhood Watch program in their city. He has also served as expert witness and a Faculty Fellow of the School of Mortgage Banking with the Mortgage Bankers Assoc. of America.  Other professional affiliations include member of the Appraisal Institute, The Counselors of Real Estate and local Chapter member and President of Lambda Alpha International.  After 32 years, Wayne and Mary recently retired and closed their commercial real estate consulting and mortgage banking business in order to devote more time to church, travel, community activities and grandchildren.

JOHN BEAUMAN

John served as Mayor and also as a Councilman of the City of Brea (CA) for nine years. He has both a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mayor Beauman is a veteran of the United States Army. His community service includes a number of leadership roles at his church including elder, School Board Member, and Chair of Covenant Christian School in Orange, CA. Mayor Beauman is originally from New York. He and his wife Sharon have a blended family of six children and twenty grandchildren.

WALT POSEY

The late Walt Posey was a retired Commissioner with the Orange County Superior Court. He earned his Juris Doctor at Pepperdine University School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1970. Commissioner Posey was in private law practice for twenty-four years. Before that he was a Sergeant with the United States Marines and a Detective Sgt. in charge of the Juvenile Division at Anaheim Police Department. His community service included serving as Elder at his church, and teaching classes at Western State School of Law and American School of Law. Comm. Posey was born in Alabama. He and his late wife Jan were survived by two adult children and three grandchildren.
